Ellen Bjerklie Hanna

Ms. Hanna works in both traditional and digital photography.  She likes to photograph streetscapes in the City and the neighborhoods around Pittsburgh, but also familiar spaces and things around her house.  She especially likes to use Holga cameras that have limited control because the not-so-perfect focus and exposure lead to images that seem like memories or dreams.  She also likes to experiment with stereoscopic photography as a means of heightening the sense of reality in her photographs.  Ms. Hanna is currently a member of Pittsburgh Filmmakers and has taken many photography classes there.  She is also a member of and has shown her photographs with the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh Society of Artists, and Group A, and Ag Works.
