This year, the Millennial generation will eclipse the Baby Boomers as the nation’s largest living generation, totaling 75.3 million, according to U.S. Census data. Young Millennial Adult, a project of AgWorks member Ohad Cadji and Weenta Girmay, is a response to the stereotypes and generalizations made about this generation, widely defined by an age range of people born between 1980-2000. The project consists of a series of photos and interviews in which Millennials from all circumstances are asked to respond to how they feel about technology, finances, education, family, politics, relationships, personal insecurities, ideas of success and other issues. By giving voice to individual Millennials, the project reveals both the diversity and commonalities among the group and provide a realistic and honest representation of what many expect to be the most influential generation since WWII.
The YMA project has been featured in NextPittsburgh and has recently partnered with Pittsburgh investigative new organization Public Source to produce a monthly new series.
