GPAC Unleashed Artists Fund
On Wednesday, September 3, we’re hosting Unleashed, a dog fashion show and party at the New Hazlett Theater from 5:30 – 8:30pm. During the party, five local artists will be randomly selected before a live audience to become inaugural recipients of the Unleashed Artists Fund on October 2, the Arts Day of Giving! To be included in the drawing, artists of all disciplines may make a profile page on the Pittsburgh Artist Registry, become a GPAC Member in good standing, and complete this form. Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council Artist Opportunity Grants Greater Pittsburgh Artist Opportunity Grants help advance the careers of individual artists by providing funds to support expenses related to specific, extraordinary opportunities that have the potential to significantly impact an artist’s work and professional development. Grants range from $250 to $2,500. Awarded three times a year, Artist Opportunity Grants help artists hone their skills and craft by funding important professional development opportunities, such as travel to work with a mentor, participation in a festival or artist residency. Next Deadline: October 20, 2014 (for opportunities occurring between December 1, 2014 and May 30, 2015)
SCREENINGS
Associated Artists of Pittsburgh will host their Fall member screening on Sunday, September 28, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at at The Framehouse Gallery. Pittsburgh Society of Artists will host their annual member screening on Sunday, October 19, 2014 at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts. Interested artists must Present three (3) gallery-ready (framed and wired) pieces of art completed within the last two years and not under direct instruction. Both two or three-dimensional pieces are acceptable. Drop off: 12:30 to 1:00pm Pick up: 3:00pm to 4:00pm Membership dues for the PSA are $40 per year.
