AgWorks member Jessica Kalmar will present a talk on experimental photography at the Penn Arts Association monthly meeting on Tuesday, February 11.  Primarily an analog photographer, Kalmar makes most of her work in the darkroom creating traditional silver gelatin prints using alternative processes such as dageurreotypes, tintypes,  and gum prints. Kalmar also experiments with camera formats (Holga, 4×5, pinhole) or devices to make a seemingly “perfect” camera into more of a tool with various results (e.g. attaching a mirrored prism to a Hasselblad). Kalmar say that these experiments are useful in her ongoing statement about linking perceptions with reality.

The date will be pushed to April if weather cancels this meeting.

The talk will take place at form 8-9:30 pm at the Penn Hills Senior Citizen Center, and will include light refreshments. The date will be pushed to April if weather cancels this meeting.
